Abstract
本稿では2020年6月に第32次地方制度調査会が公表した「2040年頃から逆算し顕在化する諸課題に対応するために必要な地方行政体制のあり方等に関する答申」で提案された「地域の未来予測」を手がかりに，東京大都市圏の市町村へ財政運営に関するアンケート調査を実施し，数量化III類を用いた分析により，財政状況への認識と将来予測，広域連携の関係を検討した．本稿の主な知見は次の3点である．①財政状況を健全であると認識し，長期の将来予測を実施している市町村は広域連携に消極的な傾向がある．②2040年頃の将来予測の必要性を感じながらも将来予測をしていない，または短期の将来予測に留まる市町村が多い傾向がある．③財政関係の広域連携では構成市町村間で温度差がある．以上の知見により，財政の将来予測では国や都道府県が市町村へ支援を行う必要があること，地域の未来予測においても市町村同士の水平的連携による情報交換が重要になることが示唆される．
