Abstract

KVK organizes vocational training programmes on a regular basis both off-campus and on-campus training. Training is one of KVK's primary and indispensable activities giving periodic or regular interval to various stakeholders or target people. The present study was carried out to assess the perception of the tribal farmers towards training and services provided by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) working in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state during 2021–22. The total sample comprised of 110 beneficiaries who were selected by using 30 per cent proportionate random sampling in 6 villages from 3 blocks, viz., Kanker, Narharpur, and Charama. The perception was assessed on the basis of two dimensions, viz., training programmes and services provided by KVK. The findings revealed that a majority (63.77%) of the tribal farmers had a more favourable perception towards training and services provided by KVK. Further, the relation revealed that attitudes towards technological demonstration, knowledge about KVK activities, innovativeness, training exposure, aspiration level, and information seeking behaviour were positive and highly significant with the perception of beneficiaries towards training programmes and services provided by Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
