Abstract

In the educational process, disciplined educators are needed. In educational institutions, of course, there must be serious handling in managing the educational process. The leader in the school or principal is an important figure in the educational institution and he is also the main force to determine the direction of the educational institution's goals. Not only that, the principal is responsible for the continuity of teaching and learning and the role in improving the discipline of educators or teachers, to achieve teaching goals, which include three domains, namely, affective, cognitive and psychomotor domains. Efforts to achieve these goals require serious handling and are supported by disciplined teachers as well. In the face of a less disciplined school environment requires leaders who are responsive, critical and dare to make strategic decisions to direct and motivate subordinates to be consciously involved in cooperation to achieve discipline goals.The professionalism and discipline of a teacher in carrying out duties as an educator is indeed the personal responsibility of the teacher himself. So we often encounter facts in the field that there are teachers who are very professional and disciplined in carrying out their duties, and vice versa there are teachers who are lazy, lack professionalism, and are not disciplined in carrying out their duties, there are even teachers who just come to school when they will receive a salary. From the above facts, it is clear that to improve teacher discipline, full responsibility is needed in a teacher, besides that it is also very necessary for the role of a principal as the holder of the highest wisdom and decisions in the school
