Abstract

Education and politics are often considered contradictory things, even though education and politics are like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated. Education policy to educate the nation’s children is the responsibility of the government. The progress or decline of a nation and a country depends on the education system in that country, the moral degradation of the nation is also the responsibility of the government, in this case strengthening character education becomes a national priority program through public policy for public virtue. The research in this article is a library research with descriptive-analytical and uses a qualitative approach. The result of this study indicate that strengthening character education is a public policy for the creation of public virtues, namely future generations with good character in thoughts, speech, and action.
