Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of red ginger flour in the ration on the performance of male quail aged 2-6 weeks. This research was conducted at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of HKBP Nommensen, Simalingkar A Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency. This research was conducted for 6 weeks from May to July 2022. This study used 200 male quails. The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely P0 = 0% red ginger flour in rations, P1 = 0.75% red ginger powder in rations, P2 = red ginger flour 1.5% in the ration and P3 = 2.25% red ginger powder in the ration. The observed changes were ratio consumption, weight gain and ration conversion. From this study it can be concluded that the addition of red ginger powder in quail rations had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption, body weight gain and ration conversion values.
