This research employs a quantitative method with a caisal-comparative design. The population for this study consists of Sharia Commercial Banks registered with the Financial Services Authority, selected through purposive sampling criteria determined by the researcher. The 2018-2022 period was chosen because it represents the most recent years, during which the global economy was impacted by the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. This period saw a weakening of the banking system, particularly affecting Islamic banks in Indonesia. Based on the established criteria, there are 9 Sharia Commercial Banks that meet the researcher’s criteria. The total sample size for this study is 45 data points. The results of the study indicate that, in partial testing Net Operating Margin has an influence on Capital Adequacy Ratio, while Financing To Deposit Ratio does not have an influence Capital Adeqyacy Ratio. Net Operating Margin and Financing To Deposit Ratio collectively contrubute to 23,3% of the influence on Capital Adequacy Ratio, with the remaining 76,7% influenced by variables outside the scope of this study.

This study used a quantitative approach. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the annual financial statements published on the official website of each Sharia Commercial Bank for the 2017-2021 period. The sample in this study amounted to 10 Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesia selected by purposive sampling method. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption tests, hypothesis tests, and multiple linear regression tests with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) had a partial positive and insignificant effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR). In part, BOPO has a negative and significant effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR). Partially, the Net Core Operating Margin (NCOM) has a positive and significant effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR). Simultaneously, the variables Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Operating Cost and Operating Income (BOPO), and Net Core Operating Margin (NCOM) have a significant effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR) and the value of the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.608 or 60.8%.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that affect liquidity in Islamic Commercial Banks (ICBs) in Indonesia. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The method used in this research is Multiple Linear Regression. To examine the factors influencing the liquidity of Islamic banks in Indonesia, the variables used are Short Term Mismatch (STM), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return on Assets (ROA), and Non-Performing Financing (NPF). This study uses monthly data from 2020 to 2023. The results of the study indicate that CAR and NPF variables have a positive and significant influence on STM, while the ROA variable has a positive influence but is not significant to the dependent variable STM. In this regard, it is recommended that Islamic banks maintain a healthy STM condition by increasing CAR and ROA and reducing NPF.

Meanwhile, the variables of non-performing financing (NPF), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), financing to deposit ratio (FDR), and operating expenses for operating income (BOPO) are not able to be a moderator or as a predictor

The study employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis with quarterly aggregate data of Islamic Commercial Banks from Q1 2010 to Q4 2024. Data were obtained from the Islamic Banking Statistics published by the Financial Services Authority. The results reveal that Capital Adequacy Ratio and Net Non-Performing Financing significantly influence market share, while Return on Assets does not. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect market share with a coefficient of determination of 70.4%. These findings highlight that capital adequacy and financing quality are the primary factors driving the competitiveness of BUS, while profitability Return on Assets does not have a direct impact on market share expansion

This study aims to explore the impact of the influence of Maqashid Syariah as a moderating variable on the variables capital adequacy ratio, operational costs, non-performance finance, Sharia supervisory board, and independent board of commissioners in influencing the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia. using panel data regression analysis, which is a combination of time series and cross-sectional data. The sample consists of 11 Islamic commercial banks with a time series from 2015 to 2020. The factors in the study are based on previous empirical literature. The findings show that the variables that have been moderated by Maqashid Shariah, such as the capital adequacy ratio and the Sharia supervisory board, are more significant than the variables of operational costs, non-performance finance, and the independent board of commissioners in influencing the profitability of Indonesian Sharia banking. The results of the study show that profitability growth, as measured by the moderation of the Islamic Maqashid variable on the capital adequacy ratio and the Sharia supervisory board, is a significant determinant of profitability, which implies that most of the profitability of Islamic banking in Indonesia is motivated by the capital adequacy ratio and the Sharia supervisory board, which is statistically significant. The coefficients of the capital adequacy ratio and Sharia supervisory board measures imply that these variables have a positive effect on the profitability of Islamic banking in Indonesia. The increase in profitability of Islamic banking in Indonesia, as measured by the capital adequacy ratio and the Sharia supervisory board, has a positive effect on profitability; these findings indicate that the growth of factors such as operational costs, non-performance finance, and the independent board of commissioners in influencing profitability of Indonesian Sharia banking is not motivating.

  • Shafitranata Shafitranata + 1 more

Purpose: The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the financial distress of Islamic banks in Indonesia during the pandemic and economic recession through an assessment of NPF, FDR, GCG, ROA, CAR, bank size, inflation, and interest rates. This research uses Islamic bank panel data for 2018-2022 and is quantitative research.Methodology/approach: Data analysis using Stata 17, through panel data regression and the data analysis method in this study using Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Population of this research is 10 Islamic banks in Indonesia with a total observation of 50 firm-years and the data used are secondary data of annual reports of Islamic banks. Results/findings: The findings show that the financial distress of Islamic banks is influenced by FDR, ROA, and CAR, and is not influenced by NPF, GCG, bank size, inflation, and interest rates. Islamic banks must carry out efficiency, restructuring, and manage the capital adequacy ratio so that it does not have an impact on the company's financial performance. Conclusions: The financial distress in Islamic banks in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession is significantly affected by the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Return on Assets (ROA), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Limitations: The limitations of the study are that the sector studied is only Islamic banks in Indonesia so that the variables that influence are not comprehensive, allowing other variables to play a role in the financial distress of Islamic banks in Indonesia.Contribution: This research contributes by analyzing the performance of Islamic banks in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the face of economic recession. The widespread impact across various sectors, particularly the financial sector, underscores the need for government support through policies and regulations to ensure the stability of Islamic banks.
