Abstract
Patients knowledge and adherence in attending medication is one of the most important factors in determining the succes of therapy, including tuberculosis medication. One of the effort to improve knoeledge and adherence is by providing information about the disease and current medication. This research aimed to determine the effect of homecare on the level of knowledge and aherence of tuberculosis patients in the working area of Puskesmas (Public Health Center) Kota Barat. The method used was quasi-experimental with the form of one group pretest-posttest. This research was conducted for one month with a total sample of 24 respondents. The research data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The research findings indicated that the knowledge of patients before and after being provided homecare was at a good level, patient adherence before and after being provided homecare was categorized as obedient. Additionally, there was a significant effect of providing information through homecare media on the level of knowledge with a sig. value= 0.000 (0.01). However, there was no significant effect on therapy adherence with a sig. value= 0.010 (0.01) in tuberculosis patients in the working area of Puskesmas Kota Barat, Gorontalo
