Abstract

This research aims to improve learning outcomes and activities student SMKN 2 Binjai. Instrument testing conducted to determine whether the questions have a different index of difficulty and a good power, validity and reliability of a problem. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques by observation and test results to learn. Based on the results of the evaluation process and outcomes in each learning and success criteria established in this study, I found the cycle average value of student learning outcomes is 76.36 increasing to 80.81 in the second cycle. For the average student activity on the I cycle is increased to 57.42 and 73.79 in the second cycle. The results showed that by using the Inquiry learning model can 1) improve student learning outcomes in class X Program of Stone and Concrete Construction Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Binjai in Building Materials Science Lesson eye, and 2) increased activity in teaching and learning in class X Program Expertise Stone and Concrete Construction Engineering SMK Negeri 2 Binjai Building Materials Science subjects.
