Abstract
This research was conducted in the Geography Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Padang State University, which aims to map the distribution of regions of origin of Geography Education Study Program students. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data obtained through observation, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study indicate 1) Mapping of the area of origin of the students of the Geography Education Study Program for the year 2014-2016 who are active in organization at Padang State University, seen from the West Sumatra Region amounting to 65% and from Kabupaten / Kota namely Padang 9%. While regions outside West Sumatra 34% of the sample 103 students. 2) students who come from senior high school or senior high school level, the most dominant MAN / MAK education level from high school is 73% and 9% from Padang area. 3) Organizational interest in students of the Geography Education Study Program from their own desires amounted to 61 students from 103 students as research samples.
