Abstract

In this paper a pedestrian-vehicle mixed evacuation model is presented for the large common place which involves both pedestrians and vehicles. The total evacuation time and total saturation degree of the road network are optimized simultaneously. A multi-particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to simulate and optimize the interaction and cooperation between pedestrians and vehicles. The experimental results show that this approach can effectively solve the mixed evacuation problem in the region integrated building and roads. The proposed model and algorithm can achieve better efficiency and lower congestion level than using basic particle swarm optimization.
