According to Van Hiele, in understanding geometry, students need to understand five stages, namely stage 1 (introduction stage), stage 2 (analysis stage), stage 3 (sequencing stage), stage 4 (deduction stage), and stage 5 (accuracy stage). Each student has different geometric thinking abilities. This study aims to examine the geometric abilities of junior high school students in the material of flat-sided geometry according to Van Hiele's Theory. This research belongs to the type of qualitative research with a case study design. It was conducted at three schools in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The subjects were students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang, SMP Negeri 7 Padang, and SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Data collection was carried out using tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification or drawing conclusions. The data originality technique was carried out with the triangulation technique, where the researcher compared the test data with the results of interviews with students. Of the 94 students (male = 38, female 56) tested based on the geometric thinking level of Van Hiele Theory, 92.55% of the students reached the Van Hiele thinking stage at the visualization level. As many as 45.74% of students reached the level of geometric analysis, and 6.38% of students reached the level of abstraction. For the level of deduction and accuracy, no one has been able to solve the problem. The results obtained in this study are that most students are still at stages 1 and 2, unlike van Hiele's opinion, which revealed that the level of geometric thinking for junior high school students is at level 3. According to the study results, it is essential to carry out further checks on the level of geometric thinking of junior high school students in other areas.

In order to effectively navigate global interactions and engage in various activities, it is imperative for individuals to possess proficiency in at least one language as a global citizen. English, as the global language of communication, is widely regarded as the most extensively learned foreign or second language around the globe. Nations that aspire to educate and instruct its populace in the English language develop their English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum and implement them in order to achieve their intended outcomes. Countries design and implement their English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum based on their specific requirements and the resources at their disposal. These curricula are regularly updated and enhanced to meet evolving needs. The present study has centered its attention on two nations, namely the Philippines, recognized as a country with a high level of proficiency in English Language Teaching (ELT), and Japan, identified as a country with a low level of proficiency in ELT based on the results of the English Proficiency Index (EPI). The data were collected through the utilization of the document analysis methodology, with the documents being sourced from both online platforms and the ministries of education of the respective countries involved. The data has undergone thorough examination, and the results on the English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum of the respective countries have been documented. In conclusion, the author has provided a brief comparison of the situation in Turkey with that of two other countries. In conclusion, it can be deduced that the aforementioned nations, in conjunction with Turkey, have implemented similar strategies, methodologies, and protocols. The ELT curricula in Japan, Turkey, and the Philippines exhibit commonalities with regards to their aims, content, teaching and learning contexts, and assessment practices. In order to attain elevated levels of competence, it is imperative for countries, particularly Japan and Turkey, to undertake a thorough evaluation and revision of their English Language Teaching (ELT) curriculum, as indicated by the EFI EPI 2022. The effective implementation and continuous updating of the updated curricula are of utmost importance.

This research was conducted to find out the strategies used, problems, and the solutions faced by the teachers during a teaching process at SMP Negeri 1 Kota Sabang. The research method of this study is descriptive qualitative by employing observation and interview guide sheets as the research instruments. The participants of this research were three English teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Sabang. The results show that the teachers used various kinds of strategies in teaching speaking; role-play, picture describing, interview, and simulations. It was also found that there were five obstacles during the teaching process; some students disturb their friends, ignore the learning process, bully their friends, lack in vocabulary, and possess limited teaching and learning duration. The solutions in solving the problems show that the teachers use four approaches to solve the problems: teachers maximized student's centered, motivated deeply and sustainably, provided a new vocabulary, and extra time online. It is suggested that English teachers should always find new ideas, strategies, or techniques in teaching-learning so that students are interested in taking part actively in the learning process.

RIZKY PRATAMA. The influence of Cooperative Learning Model Type Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) against an increase in the ability of the Mathematical problem solving of students in SMP Negeri 3 Kota Tangerang. Thesis. Jakarta: Mathematics Education Courses. Faculty of mathematics and natural sciences. State University of Jakarta. 2019. The research was distributed by the student's mathematical problem solving ability are low caused still present the implementation of learning mathematics based on teachers and the lack of teachers in the conditioning provide the capability of solving mathematical problems. One of the attempts to fix it is to implement cooperative learning model type CIRC. this research aims to know the influence of cooperative learning model type CIRC against an increase in the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students in SMP Negeri 3 Kota Tangerang. This research was conducted on grade VIII in SMP Negeri 3 Kota Tangerang 2018/2019 school year. Sampling techniques using cluster random sampling by specifying a class experiment in class VIII-4 (cooperative learning model type CIRC.) and one control class in class VIII-5 (model learning conventional) of four classes randomly selected between VIII4-VIII7 class. Data analysis techniques using a t-test with a test of normality test analysis prerequisite test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and its homogeneity by using Fisher test. The first hypothesis to be tested, namely an increase in the ability of mathematical problem solving of students with the influence of cooperative learning model type CIRC in class experiments. The test results showed tcalculate = 33.3147 ttable = 1.9949 and then accept H1 tcalculate > ttable criteria, meaning that there is an increase in the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students in classes that use cooperative learning model type CIRC. The second hypothesis to be tested, namely an increase in the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students with the influence of conventional learning model in the control class. The test results indicate tcalculate = 31.7777 and ttable = 1.9949 then accept H1 tcalculate > ttable criteria, meaning that there is an increase in the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students in classes that use conventional learning. The third hypothesis will be tested i.e. mathematical problem solving ability improvement is higher between the two classes. The test results indicate tcalculate = 6.0357 and ttable = 1.9949, then accept H1 tcalculate > ttable criteria on a 5% significance level, meaning there is an increased ability of the mathematical problem solving of students in classes that use the model cooperative learning type CIRC higher than those using conventional learning. The results of hypothesis testing gives the conclusion that there is an influence of the application of the cooperative learning model type CIRC against an increase in the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students in SMP Negeri 3 Kota Tangerang
