Abstract

Announcing the results of last year's Comprehensive Spending Review, the government claimed it would save £1 billion in red tape during the lifetime of this parliament. This prize for dismantling the internal market always seemed optimistic, but recent analysis suggests it could end up seriously jeopardising the success of PCGs.
