Abstract

A PC-based approach to the natural gas flow computer design is presented in this paper 1 1 Research project sponsored by FAPESP under process Nr. 98/07956-0: ‘Development of a flow measurement automated system with dynamic compensation of variations in the fluid and flow properties’. . The system employs the state-of-the-art mathematical models for fluid flow dynamics aspect corrections, as well as compressible behaviour of gaseous fluid considerations. Orifice plates were used as primary elements. Measurements are implemented through intelligent sensors compatible with Foundation ™ Fieldbus protocol. Results of the metrological tests of the developed system are presented.
