Abstract
Less predictable hydrological changes in the catchment area, superimposed on the general climatic seasonality, affect the distribution and stratification of temperature in central European wetlands. Long-term observations in sedge-grass marsh, willow carr and shallow water bodies in Czechoslovakia suggest an efficient role of life forms, geometry of vegetation and dead litter in the seasonal and diurnal course of temperature.
