Abstract
Benign pathology of the prostate is one of the most important causes of consultation in urological offices. It is a disease with high prevalence, whose potential complications are very important and have an important impact on the quality of life of patients. Diagnostic techniques have not undergone major changes in recent years, but the therapeutic armamentarium is gradually increasing. The arrival of new drugs and new technologies have changed the treatment of medical and surgical treatment of benign prostatic hiperplasia and the symptoms associated with prostatitis. We present an updated version of this pathology with emphasis on recent therapeutic advances available to treat this pathology.
