Abstract
Gastroesophageal reflux cough,a special type of gastroesophageal reflux disease,is considered as one of the most common causes of chronic cough.However,gastroesophageal reflux cough has its own characteristics in pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment.It has associated with distal or proximal reflux and airway hypersensitivity.The diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux cough is dependent upon the combination of clinical presentation and laboratory investigations.Muhichannel intraluminal esophageal impedance and pH monitoring is a promising technique developed recently which is able to detect both acid and non-acid reflux.Currently,anti-reflux therapy with drugs is still the main approach for gastroesophageal reflux cough.
