Abstract

Surgical treatment of hallux valgus with metatarsus primus varus aims to normalize the intermetatarsal angle, reduce the exostosis, and realign the proximal phalanx. These goals can be achieved by numerous osseous and soft-tissue procedures. The surgeon must be aware of the many treatment options and be able to select the appropriate procedure for each foot.
