Abstract

Although some previous workers reported experimental results concerned with size distributions of silica particles formed in the hydrolysis and condensation of TEOS (Bogush et al., 1988, Bogush and Zukoski, 1991), it is still not clear how the reaction conditions are related to the final particle size distribution. The objective of this paper is to determine the conditions for producing highly monodispersive silica particles. The approach is to carefully examine the time dependence of the statistical factors of the distribution.
