Abstract
Recently a great deal of attention has been given to the slip of polymers on the walls of containing channels. We discuss the question of where slip begins in a plane stick-slip flow when the pressure gradient far upstream is insufficient to cause complete slip. Some experimentally verifiable results are produced using the J-integral method
