Abstract
Abstract Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that primarily manifests as a movement disorder. It significantly affects the quality of life of individuals, who often experience stigma, disability, and social isolation. These outcomes are largely attributed to the widespread myths and misconceptions surrounding the disease, leading to negative consequences in workplaces, public interactions, and mental health. Therefore, it is crucial to raise awareness about PD, strengthen peer networks, foster supportive community environments, and ensure that healthcare professionals are trained to provide empathetic, patient-centered care. In conclusion, this study underscores the indispensable need for a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to address the challenges faced by individuals with PD.
