Abstract

Because most eating-disordered mothers reported serious parenting difficulties, the Therapy Center for Eating Disorders in Munich started with a mother-child group. Three cases are described in detail. The case presentations focus on the problems of the mothers and their children. The latter may be considered a high-risk group for developing behavioral problems. The experiences point to the need for special counseling for mothers with eating disorders.
