Abstract
The first part of this paper involves a complete study of a synchronous machine suited for control. Theoretical aspects are based on PARK's equations while the experimental part is achieved from on-line frequency responses on small signals for different real and reactive power. The concordant results show that a third order multi-input-multi-output non minimum phase system characterizes correctly the dynamic behaviour of the synchronous machine and that the system varies greatly with the load. Moreover, this study leads to a model of synchronous machine with three state variables.
