Abstract

An investigation has been made on Paper-based substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna operating around 21 GHz. The proposed antenna is an SIW square cavity backed radiating rectangular slot. It has the advantage of ultra low profile which makes it suitable for high integration microwave circuits. In addition, this antenna is well shielded in order to be fabricated for application in emerging wireless communication systems. Moreover, a wide bandwidth of almost 3.5 GHz is achieved and a high gain equal to 1.82dB is noted which is not commonly performed for paper-based antenna.
