Abstract
Knowing the rights and obligations of husband and wife is a principle thing that must be known by couples who are married. An understanding of the rights and obligations of husband and wife must be implemented in married life. But the reality is that many couples do not understand the rights and obligations as they should. The author uses the views of academics with the aim of understanding these rights and obligations can be used as a reference to be applied in domestic life. This research uses a type of qualitative research (field research). While data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data collected was then analyzed using the sociology of knowledge approach. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the views of academics regarding the flexibility of the rights and obligations of husband and wife referring to the five principles of mub is very relevant if applied to couples who understand the meaning of mutuality and justice. 
 Mengetahui hak dan kewajiban suami istri merupakan hal yang prinsipil yang harus diketahui oleh pasangan yang sudah berkeluarga. Pemahaman mengenai hak dan kewajiban suami istri harus diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan berumah tangga. Namun realitanya banyak pasangan yang belum memahami hak dan kewajiban seperti seharusnya. Penulis menggunakan pandangan akademisi dengan tujuan pemahaman mengenai hak dan kewajiban tersebut dapat dijadikan acuan untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif (field research). Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan pendekatan sosiologi pengetahuan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah di lakukan dapat di simpulkan Pandangan para akademisi mengenai fleksiblenya hak dan kewajiban suami istri mengacu pada lima prinsip mubadalah tersebut sangat relevan jika di terapkan pada pasangan yang memahami makna kesalingan dan kesetaraan.
