Abstract

The addition of lysine to broiler feed doesn’t significantly change enzyme activity of pancreatic juice. Bringing methionine up to the ration standard promoted an increase in secretion of pancreatic juice by 19% and an increase of activity of amylase by 29%, proteases by 42%, and lipase by 26%. The addition of both amino acids to the ration stimulated secretion of the pancreas: the amount of pancreatic juice increased by 19% and the activity of amylase increased by 52% and proteases by 55%.
