Abstract
The Middle Triassic of the Gartnerkofel area was investigated under paleontological and microfacies aspects. Four different facies zones can be distinguished in the area: 1) marginal basin (Formazione di Livinallongo) 2) platform margin (Schlern Dolomite) 3) subtidal platform (Schlern Dolomite) 4) restricted platform (Schlern Dolomite)
