Abstract

ABSTRACT Analysis of C13/C12 ratios of penecontemporaneous siderite nodules from shales showed complete separation of the freshwater group from the two marine groups, and a partial separation of restricted marine and marine. Some of the anomalous results can be explained by contamination by secondary calcite and possible errors of environmental classification.
