Abstract
To produce a bloodless field in extremity surgery, the pneumatic tourniquet forms an essential component. It is a simple instrument that plays an important role in many orthopaedic operations. Proper knowledge and care are essential to its use. So its use must be entrusted only to skilful personnel.
