Abstract

Electrocardiographic RR intervals in atrial flutter (AFL) are often non-integer multiples of atrial cycle length (CL), attributed to varying decrement in the atrioventricular node (AVN). We hypothesized that cycle-to-cycle wavefront variability, that is more pronounced in atypical than typical AFL, may impact AVN conduction and influence RR variability.
