Abstract

Introduction: Celiac disease(CD) is a frequent diagnosis actually facilitated by dosage of specific antibodies(AB). Helicobacter Pylori(HP) is the most frequent cause of chronic gastritis. HP have been described to be more frequent in patient with CD than in general population; patients with CD and HP seems to have more frequently anemia than others CD patients and positive anti-parietal cells AB have been found preferentially in patients HP positive. Methods: We report 4 patients with possible interference between HP and celiac serology: 2 infants with failure to thrive and positive AB for CD. At endoscopy we found HP gastritis and normal duodenal mucosa. 2 patients with suspicion of CD (digestive symptoms and positive AB). Endoscopy found HP gastritis and moderate mucosal atrophy. 2 others patients with similar presentation are actually investigated. Results: In all patients, treatment of HP have been done and followed by normalization of the CD serology in the 2 first patients and normalization of both serology and mucosa in the 2 others. We hypothetised a possible relationship between HP and gluten sensibilisation or between HP and AB synthesis. Conclusion: Report of all similar cases and protocole study are needed to better understanding of immunologic and histopathologic consequences of HP gastritis specifically in CD.
