Abstract

Eag1 display oncogenic properties, and are proposed as markers and therapeutic cancer targets (1 - 5). Nevertheless, Eag1 regulation by endogenous factors is poorly understood. Because of the restricted distribution of Eag1 in normal tissues, we wondered whether serum regulates Eag1 expression. We also looked for ERK/MAPK activation and studied the effect of TGF-alpha (which activates ERK/MAPK) on Eag1 gene expression.
