Abstract

We present a detailed analysis of the 6He elastic scattering on different target nuclei over a wide energy range within the framework of the double folding model using a phenomenological imaginary potential. We show the microscopic real potential generated by No-core Shell model density distributions provides good agreement in explaining the elastic scattering angular distributions. In this study we also present a new formulation depending on the incident energy and atomic charge of the target nucleus for the phenomenological imaginary potential and investigate the threshold anomaly in halo nuclei by analyzing the 6He + 208Pb system.
