Abstract

In humans though there is a marked decline in fecundity with advancing age with very rare pregnancies at age ≥45, the limiting factor appears to be the ovaries and not the uterus. Certainly there have been pregnancies recorded in women ≥ age 50 and some even ≥60 using donor oocytes. Nevertheless it is possible that at some age there is at least a decline in fecundity related to uterine senescence. The objective of the present study was to evaluate pregnancy outcome according to advancing age to determine if there is a certain cut-off where a decline in fecundity is noted following donor oocyte transfer.
