Abstract

I~ T~E earlier works by Spit and Anderson [1, 2] it was found tha t if ultrafine cuts and dispersed polymers were etched in a gas discharge structural details could be made visible. This is a t t r ibuted to changes in the depth of the specimen due to the uneven etching of the parts of the polymer with different densities. On the photographs of etched sections and fibres, the authors detected supramolecular formations 300-400 A in size, with preferred orientation perpendicular to the fibre axis.
