Home enteral nutrition (HEN) provides prolonged nutritional support for patients who cannot maintain sufficient oral intake but who have functioning gastrointestinal tracts. To determine the benefits of HEN, researchers in France prospectively assessed long-term outcomes of 417 patients (mean age, 64) who fulfilled rigorous selection criteria including an anticipated need for at least 1 month of HEN.
