Abstract

Stephanotis floribunda (Madagascar Jasmine), a member of the family of Asclepiadaceae, is cultured on a large scale in specialized greenhouses as a cut flower and ornamental plant. Recently, the occurrence of asthma symptoms in 4 of 8 greenhouse employees raised the suspicion of a work-related disease. To our knowledge, allergy to S floribunda has not been reported in the literature.
