Abstract
A reestruturação da Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo provocou um notável ciclo de adensamento na “vida musical” paulista, com importantes repercussões em nível nacional. Ao mesmo tempo, o projeto reproduz, com alguma variação e novidade, elementos do modelo consagrado pela Sociedade de Cultura Artística, uma das mais tradicionais instituições da cultura legítima no Brasil, pelo que é por vezes tachada de elitista.
