Abstract
Static Magnetic Fields (CMEs) can be generated from magnets. According to the direction, intensity, spatial distribution and time of application of magnets, MECs can generate different biological effects, ranging from beneficial to deleterious. This Integrative Bibliographic Review sought to investigate the effects of MECs on biological systems and their relationship with Medicinal Biomagnetism (BM). To this end, a survey was carried out on the Pubmed and Scielo platforms, using the descriptors “Static magnetic fields and biological systems”, “Magnetic Therapies” and “Medicinal Biomagnetism”. In order to discuss the results, in addition to the articles that address the literature on the topic of interest, we used the books by Isaac Goiz Durán, which present the foundations of the BM up to this point. In the analysis of the obtained content, almost all of the studies presented in the articles were pre-clinical tests in in vitro and in vivo models, which presented the effects of static magnetic fields on biological systems. Among the emerging therapies (Magnetic Therapies) that use EMF, there is the BM, which makes use of specific magnets for the technique, with the objective of correcting energy imbalances in the body, known as Biomagnetic Pairs (PBMs), which are the bioelectrical modifications and biomagnetic, which are related to pH changes. The application of MECs in BM showed therapeutic benefits in the literature found, and can be a therapeutic tool supporting conventional therapies, according to their principles and therapeutic indications. More studies are needed to evaluate the mechanisms of action involved and to evaluate the effects of the BM technique in the body.
