Abstract

An area of about 150 sq km has been mapped during the years 2013 and 2014 on 2 cm to 1 km scale in Khammam district of Telangana State. The region lies between Long. 80° 30’ E-80° 41’ E and Lat. 17° 15’ N-17° 21’ N of Survey of India toposheet no: 65 C/11. About 200 rock specimen were collected representing the different types and out of them 100 thin sections were prepared, they have been studied for their mineralogical and textural relationships. Lithologically, the area represents an amazing diversity of regional metamorphic rocks ranging from the epidote-amphibolite facies to the granulitic facies of metamorphism.
