Abstract

Each year, since 1960, Farm Bureau policies regarding bargaining in agriculture have been strengthened. In 1960, it was decided to select pilot projects for the early stages of organization and operations. This resulted in the initiation of two major commodity marketing programs-processing apples and processing tomatoes. Apples, a perennial crop, and tomatoes, an annual crop, provided varying marketing patterns and the opportunity to test different procedures.
