Abstract

After the events of December 1989 all impediments with regard to restoring some aspects of the past, from the perspective of truth were vanished. A positive consequence of this new reality was to enhance research on actions to save Jews (in the spring and summer of 1944) from a certain death, by passing accross the border through the medium of experienced guides, from Hungary and Northern Transylvania in Romania. In this paper, the author uses the testimonies which have been published during 1990–1994 (as, for example those signed by the lawyer Aurel Socol). In addition to the interviews published by Mânase Radnev and to other books and articles about the “Jewish martyrs” (among these the article of historian Pompiliu Teodor is distinguished).
