Abstract

The photoemission data of ordered ${\mathrm{Fe}}_{3}$Pt Invar which have recently been reported as evidence of the high-spin to low-spin transition have been reexamined on the basis of the single-site spin-fluctuation theory. It is shown that the data are in better agreement with the curves obtained from the simple transition from a strong band ferromagnetism to disordered local-moment states with large local moments. Thus, there is no necessity to invoke the phenomenological $2\ensuremath{\gamma}$ model.
