Abstract
The dynamic programming analysis of A ris et al. is extended to the determination of the optimal operating conditions for a class of multi-stage processes with product recycle. The dynamic programming tables for the process with no recycle can be used without modification to determine the optimal operating conditions for the process with recycle. The methods are restricted to recycle back to the first stage, and to certain objective functions.
