Abstract

Vacuum immobilization moulds, such as the CIVCO Body-Pro lok, are currently used to aid in the precise delivery of SBRT to small target volumes. Without the use of these immobilization devices, larger planning target volumes (PTV) are used to guarantee tumor volumes are receiving optimal dose. The CIVCO Body-Pro Lok is an expensive immobilization device that causes discomfort in many patients. This study aims to determine whether the CIVCO Body-Pro Lok is necessary for patients undergoing SBRT to the lung and whether planning tumor volumes can be reduced.
