Abstract

Coir fiber reinforced epoxy composites plays a vital role for the assembly of eco-friendly materials as a result of their high modulus, smart strength, less carbon footprints on the surroundings. Drilling could be a machining methodthat is a very important method for the ultimate production stage before application. This paper mentioned a good approach for the improvement of drilling parameters with multiple performance characteristics supported Taguchi technique with gray relational analysis. L27 orthogonal array has been used for the experimentation. The drilling parameters like drill diameter, feed rate and spindle speed are optimized with the thought of multiple performance characteristics like surface roughness of the fabric, material removal rate and tool wear rate. The result indicates that the performance characteristics obtained by this approach improves the machining process effectively.
