Abstract

A precipitating solvent system developed in the INSPIRE project was optimized for upscaling and pilot scale demonstration. Phase equilibrium, thermo-physical properties, crystallization study was performed for an optimized solvent composition. The experimental data were fitted to empirical correlations and used for process evaluation in SINTEF's in-house simulation tool CO2SIM. This paper presents results from the experimental work performed in the project in order to provide an input for the development of process model and contactor design.
