Abstract

A method of optimizing the parameters of a three-stream square cascade for separation of multicomponent mixtures of stable isotopes under specified external conditions is proposed. It is based on a combination of a check calculation of the parameters of the cascade based on the separation factor approximation and a numerical search for the values of the external flows which are required to secure a specified external concentration. It is shown that this method can be used to calculate the optimal parameters of a square cascade for separating mixtures with a different number of components.
