Abstract

AbstractA theoretical study is made of the optical Stark effect in an exciton‐phonon system in which the Fano effect takes place due to the interference between two exciton bands through the exciton‐LO‐phonon interaction. Formal expressions of spectra are derived for the absorption and the time‐resolved resonant secondary emission of probe light, using the resolvent method. The spectral change of absorption induced by the optical Stark effect corresponds to Im (χ(3)). Carrying out numerical computations for a model system, it is demonstrated what spectral structures and temporal behaviors are expected to be observed when there coexist the optical Stark effect and the Fano effect.
