Abstract

Recently, H. Triki and A. Biswas obtained an important generalization of the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation which is referred to in the literature as the Triki–Biswas equation. The Triki–Biswas equation plays a very important role in propagation of short pulses of width around regions of sub-10 fs in optical fiber systems. In the present paper we consider the application of a new function, recently introduced by Kudryashov, for determining the solitary wave solutions of Triki–Biswas equation. Bright and singular solitons are formally derived.
