Abstract

The absorption coefficient of several low-density mono-disperse model aerosols is calculated. The scatterers in each aerosol are clusters of 20 spheres with structure selected so as to simulate some irregularly shaped particles often observed in powders. The results evidence the anisotropy of the particle but are more sensitive to their compactness than to their specific structure.
